On March 25, 2025, Elsevier released the 2024 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list, with 36 scholars from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) recognized for their exceptional research contributions34. Among these, six professors from the ‌School of Electrical Engineering‌ were honored in the fields of ‌Transportation Engineering‌ and ‌Electrical Engineering‌. They are Prof. Zhigang Liu, Prof. Ruikun Mai, Prof. ‌Qi Li，Prof. Zhengyou He, Prof. Wensheng Song, Prof.‌ Haiquan Zhao‌.

The ‌list of Highly Cited Chinese Researchers, recognized as a benchmark for evaluating Chinese scholars' research impact, utilizes the ‌globally authoritative citation and indexing database Scopus‌ to analyze academic achievements. Since its inaugural release in 2015, the list has entered its ‌11th edition in 2025‌, garnering significant attention from domestic and international academia and media.
